Founded by Wayne Elsey in the aftermaths of the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia and Hurricane Katrina, Soles4Souls ® Inc. collects new and used shoes to give to those in need. The organization receives generous donations from footwear companies and retail outlets, as well as church groups, schools, civic organizations and individuals. (Website)

Wounded Warriors

The Wounded Warriors Project ® supports soldiers and veterans that have been wounded or have suffered a physical or mental injury or illness related to their military service on or after Sept. 11, 2001. The project also supports the families of those soldiers and veterans. The project uses a very interactive approach to help the soldier’s mind and body as well as encourage economic empowerment and engagement. The organization’s goal is to create the “most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.” (Website)
